About Edit PDF

Edit PDF lets you both edit existing text and mark up any PDF directly in your browser. Switch on the Edit text tool and click a line of text to replace it in place — the editor covers the original and retypes your replacement at the same position, size and colour. Or add new text boxes, highlights, rectangles, freehand lines and images, then move, resize and fine-tune everything before exporting. You can type in 11 languages — English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu and Arabic — with correct shaping (conjuncts, matras, joined letters) and right-to-left support, using embedded open-source Noto fonts. Nothing is ever uploaded — the whole editor runs on your device for complete privacy.

How to use

1. 1Open the PDF you want to edit — it loads instantly in your browser.
2. 2To change existing text, pick the Edit text tool and click a highlighted line; its text is pre-filled so you can retype it.
3. 3To add content, pick Text, Highlight, Rectangle, Draw or Image, then click or drag on the page.
4. 4Use the Pages panel to add, duplicate, delete, rotate or reorder pages.
5. 5Use Find & Replace to search for text and replace it across one or all pages.
6. 6For non-English text, choose the language from the toolbar; use the alignment buttons for right-to-left scripts like Urdu and Arabic.
7. 7If replacement text doesn't fit, use Shrink to fit or enlarge the box, then click Download PDF to save.
